    Artist Statement

I create art to explore the nostalgia and the feeling of being a kid again, something I believe we all need. My work relates to all aspects of childhood to show the fleeting emotion of youth throughout everyone’s lives. Through colorful oil paints, I aim to create pieces that feel immersive, almost as if the viewer  is being transported back into their childhood days. When people stumble upon my artwork, I hope it will remind them of their past or make them think of their younger years of the life

My creative process is fueled by intuition and strong emotional connection. I mainly work with oils because their fluid texture allows me to blend colors seamlessly and bring more depth to my pieces. I gravitate towards unique canvases because of their resemblance to windows into a different time. My references come from either photographs from my mom of when I was younger or lost memories I have had in the back of my mind. Rather than painting with glazing on top of a monochromatic background, I favor direct painting techniques because they let me work quickly and stretch the vibrancy of my colors.

Right now, my work explores themes of memory, nostalgia, and the contrast between childhood innocence and the complexities of growing up. I use vibrant colors alongside monochromatic contrasts to create a sense of both wonder and longing. Each piece is a reflection of my own personal experiences, but I hope that they resonate with others, to evoke emotions that feel both personal and universal. Through my art I want to preserve the moments that have shaped me and the way I have grown, to invite others to find pieces of their own stories within mine.
