This was an incredibly fun process and it really opened my eyes to how important knowing the figure is as an artist. The thing is, you don't just learn how to draw the human figure, you learn to draw with it if that makes sense. You learn to draw through the mass as though you are creating an armature for it. This is very much like sculpture in a way, just in a 2 dimensional form. I personally struggle with the distribution of weight and proportion in my figures and gesture sketches really helped me with that. I have learned so many things from this process and I cannot wait to experience it again.
